Custom connector development for iPaaS and construction APIs

When no connector exists for a system you need, we build one: authentication, data objects, change tracking, actions and tests, ready for an iPaaS or a custom integration.

The problem

Your integration platform has no connector for the system you need, or the one that exists covers only part of the API. Software vendors face the reverse: customers ask to connect your product to their ERP and you have no connector on the platforms they use.

What we build

We build connectors to the platform's SDK or as standalone services: authentication, data objects with pagination and changed-data queries, write actions with validation, and tests. For iPaaS platforms such as Trimble App Xchange we follow the published connector SDK and review process.

How it works

Custom connector development in four steps: assess the API, model the data, build and test, ship and document. The connector sits between the system API and the integration platform, handling auth, paging and retries, data objects with change tracking, validated write actions and sandbox tests, and several flows reuse the same connector.
A connector handles auth, paging, change tracking and writes once, so every flow can reuse it.
  1. 1

    Assess the API

We check authentication, pagination, filtering, changed-data queries and write support, since these decide what the connector can do reliably.

  2. 2

    Model the data

We define data objects and actions around what flows will need, not one per endpoint.

  3. 3

    Build and test

We implement the client, data readers, cache writers and action processors with tests against a sandbox.

  4. 4

    Ship and document

We prepare it for the platform's review or your deployment, with documentation for flow builders.

The value it creates

  • Time saved

Flow builders work with ready data objects instead of raw HTTP calls.

  • Standardization

Every flow uses the same authentication, paging and error handling.

  • Visibility

Connector errors carry the request and response needed to fix them.

  • Collective intelligence

A connector built once is reused across every flow and customer that needs that system.

Frequently asked questions

Which connectors have you built?

On Trimble App Xchange we built C# connectors for systems including HCSS, Ramp, Bluebeam Studio, Workyard, SmartPM, Power BI, Accubid and Trimble Connect. That code belongs to Trimble; we bring the patterns, not the source.

What does an API need for a good connector?

Reliable authentication, pagination, filtering and a way to ask for records changed since a date. Without changed-data queries, every sync has to read everything.

We are a software vendor. Can you build a connector for our product?

Yes. That is a common request: you want your product on an integration platform your customers already use. We build and document it so your team can maintain it.

Which report or workflow would you like to improve?

Tell us what your team does today, which systems are involved, and what you want to change. We'll discuss whether there is a practical fit.
