Build Flows

For event organizers and podcast hosts

Speaking and podcasts

Practical sessions on construction reporting, data, and governed AI, grounded in working builds rather than slides alone.

Charley Forey, founder of Build Flows

Short bio

Charley Forey is the founder of Build Flows. He helps construction teams connect the tools and information they depend on, then turn that foundation into useful reporting and workflows.

At Viewpoint, Nearmap, and Trimble I connected ERPs, schedules, cost systems, and field tools for contractors and owners across the country. The information was almost always present. What teams needed was a reliable path from that data to governed action—and a partner accountable for shipping it.

His experience spans construction software, integrations, and AI engineering, with a focus on what a measure means, where the record comes from, who approves a change, and who maintains the system after launch.

Talk topics

Each topic can run as a keynote, workshop, panel contribution, or podcast conversation, and can be tailored to your audience.

  • Replacing the monthly Excel report: what actually changes

Most monthly reports are rebuilt by hand from the same few systems every month. This talk walks through what moves when that report becomes a governed, refreshable model, and what the team still has to own.

    Audience:
    Finance leaders, project controls, operations
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast

  • WIP you can explain: definitions before dashboards

A WIP schedule is only as trustworthy as the definitions behind percent complete, earned revenue, and over/under billing. We cover how to agree those definitions first, so the dashboard reconciles to the books.

    Audience:
    CFOs, controllers, construction accountants
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast

  • Data quality rules for trustworthy reporting

Missing job numbers, mismatched cost codes, and stale records quietly break reports. This session shows how to write simple, testable data quality rules and surface exceptions before the numbers reach leadership.

    Audience:
Data and BI teams, project controls
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast

  • Connecting project, accounting, and CRM data

Project IDs, job numbers, and CRM deals rarely line up across systems. We walk through a practical mapping approach that lets one report follow a project from pursuit to closeout.

    Audience:
    Operations, IT, finance
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast

  • MCP for construction systems

The Model Context Protocol gives AI assistants a standard way to call tools in systems like Procore and Primavera P6. This talk explains what MCP is, where it helps, and where it adds risk.

    Audience:
    IT leaders, innovation teams, technologists
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast

  • Governed AI agents on construction data

AI agents are only useful when people can see what they did and approve what they change. We cover permissions, audit trails, and approval steps that make agents acceptable to IT and finance.

    Audience:
Executives, IT and security, innovation teams
    Formats:
    Keynote, Workshop, Panel, Podcast
