For CFOs & controllers
Construction Financial Reporting for CFOs and Controllers
Month-end should not depend on exports, pasted tabs and a spreadsheet only one person understands. We build reporting platforms that pull from your project, accounting and CRM systems, validate the numbers before anyone sees them, and let you trace any total back to the rows behind it.
Sound familiar?
- Closing the month means exporting from Procore and accounting, pasting into Excel and recalculating by hand.
- There is no shared key between a Procore project, an accounting job and a CRM deal, so every reconciliation is manual.
- WIP, over/under billing and retainage live in workbook formulas nobody can test or audit.
- Spreadsheets accept wrong inputs without complaint, and errors can offset each other so the total still looks right.
- When a number is questioned, nobody can quickly show which source records produced it.
- Cash forecasting and backlog reporting are rebuilt from scratch every month instead of refreshing on their own.
What changes
- A WIP schedule, cash forecast, backlog and AR view that refresh from your source systems instead of from exports.
- Governed measures defined once in a semantic model, so every report calculates margin and billing the same way.
- A quality gate that blocks bad data from publishing and keeps the last good numbers on screen when a run fails.
- An exceptions worklist that names unmatched records and where to fix them, instead of silently dropping them.
- Read-only SQL access to the gold layer so finance can check the exact rows behind any total.
- Reporting logic kept as code in version control, so changes are reviewable rather than buried in cell formulas.
What we build for you
WIP and job cost reporting in Microsoft Fabric
We land Procore, Sage or QuickBooks data in a bronze, silver and gold lakehouse and build a semantic model with governed measures for WIP, over/under billing, retainage and margin. Power BI reads it directly, so the report refreshes with the data instead of with someone's evening.
Cross-system crosswalks that refuse to guess
We link projects, jobs and deals using a controller-maintained mapping first, then exact project numbers, then a name match only when it is unambiguous. Anything that does not match lands on an exceptions list for your team to resolve at the source.
Replacing the monthly Excel report
We read every formula in your existing workbook, document what it really calculates, and rebuild it as an automated pipeline with tests. In one rebuild, that review exposed two scorecard errors that happened to cancel each other out on the sample project.
Data quality rules and validation gates
We write automated expectations for the checks your team does by eye today: missing cost codes, invoices without a job, billings that do not tie. Failed checks stop publishing and show up as a worklist rather than a surprise in the board deck.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need write access to our accounting system?
No. Our reporting builds only read from your systems, using scoped credentials such as a HubSpot key limited to read scopes, and production credentials belong in Azure Key Vault. The reports change nothing in your systems of record.
What happens when the source data is wrong?
Automated quality rules run before anything publishes. Rows that fail are flagged with a reason and routed to an exceptions or unresolved-records list, and if a run fails the reports keep showing the last version that passed.
Will the new report match our existing WIP numbers?
We start by reading your current workbook and documenting its logic, then reconcile the new measures against it. Where the two disagree, we show you why, because sometimes the spreadsheet was the one that was wrong.
We use QuickBooks, not Sage. Does this still apply?
Yes. We have built the same lakehouse pattern on Procore with Sage and on Procore with QuickBooks Online and HubSpot. The architecture stays the same; the connectors and crosswalks change to match your stack.
Do we need Microsoft Fabric already?
No. We can help you stand up a Fabric workspace sized to your reporting needs, or work within an existing Azure and Power BI footprint if that fits better.
