Field data capture app for checklists, photos and site notes

A mobile screen built for one field job, such as walks, checklists or quantities, that files data straight to the project and onward to your systems.

The problem

Field information comes back as paper forms, texts, photos on personal phones and spreadsheets filled in at the end of the day. Office staff re-key it, some never arrives, and the reports built on it are late or incomplete.

What we build

We build a focused mobile screen for the field task you need captured, with the checklist, required fields and photo, video and voice capture in one place. Everything is filed to the project when the user finishes, and can be passed on to Procore, SharePoint or your reporting model. The job walk feature in Connect is a production example: an editable checklist, photo, video and audio capture, and automatic transcription tied to the project.

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick one field task

We start with a single, frequent task, such as a site walk, a QC checklist, a daily quantity entry or an equipment check, and agree on the fields, photos and sign-offs it needs.

  2. 2

    Build the mobile screen

A mobile-friendly web screen with the checklist, required fields, and photo, video and voice capture. Voice notes are transcribed so they can be searched.

  3. 3

    File it to the project

When the user finishes, everything is attached to the right project with who captured it and when, and access follows the project team.

  4. 4

Send it where it is used

Captured data is passed to the systems that need it, such as Procore, SharePoint lists or a Fabric lakehouse, so reports and dashboards pick it up without re-keying.

  • Mobile browser (phone or tablet)
  • Procore
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Next.js and TypeScript

The value it creates

  • Time saved

Measured by timing the current capture-and-re-key process for a sample of entries against the same entries made directly in the app.

  • Standardization

Required fields and checklists mean every crew captures the same information the same way.

  • Visibility

Field data reaches reports the same day it is captured, and missing entries show as gaps rather than zeros.

  • Better decisions

Photos, notes and timestamps sit with the record, so the office can act on what the field actually saw.

Frequently asked questions

Why build an app instead of using Procore's forms?

If Procore or your existing field tool covers the task, we will tell you to use it. A custom screen makes sense when the task does not fit, needs data from several systems, or has to feed reporting in a structure the standard tool does not produce.

Does it need to be installed from an app store?

Usually not. We build mobile-friendly web apps that open in the phone's browser and use its camera and microphone, which avoids app store releases. A native app is an option if offline use or device features require it.

What happens with poor signal on site?

Connectivity needs are agreed up front. If crews regularly work without signal, we scope offline capture and later sync as part of the build rather than assuming coverage.

Can field data flow into our Power BI reports?

Yes. Captured data can be written to SharePoint lists or a Fabric lakehouse and picked up by the same pipeline that feeds your reports, as structured team inputs are in our construction reporting build.
