Client and owner portal for project updates and reports

Owners and clients get one secure place to read updates, answer questions and confirm requests, with every response stored on the project.

The problem

Owner updates go out as PDFs and email threads. Questions to the client get lost in inboxes, answers arrive in a reply nobody files, and when there is a dispute later it is hard to prove what the owner was told and what they agreed to.

What we build

We build a client-facing layer on top of your project data: secure, password-protected links or guest accounts where the owner reads the latest update, answers open questions and confirms requests. Answers are stored on the project with a timestamp and marked client verified. Connect runs this pattern in production for schedule updates and means-and-methods questions; for reporting we can publish pages from the same data that feeds your Power BI reports.

How it works

  1. 1

Agree on what the owner sees

We define the update content (schedule changes, progress, key financials, open questions, requests to confirm) and which pieces come from systems versus your team's narrative.

  2. 2

Draft the update from project data

The update is assembled from what changed over the period, from schedules, documents and reporting data. In Connect an agent drafts it with recommendations and the team edits before publishing.

  3. 3

    Share securely

The published update gets a password-protected link or guest access. The owner reads it, asks questions and confirms requests without needing a full account.

  4. 4

    Store the response and history

Answers and confirmations come back into the project, marked client verified with a timestamp. History and export are kept for both sides.

The value it creates

  • Time saved

Measured by comparing how long client answers take by email today with the time from sending a portal link to a client-verified answer.

  • Better decisions

Owner answers and confirmations are stored with timestamps, so the project record shows what was agreed and when.

  • Visibility

Owners see current status from the same data the team uses, instead of a PDF that is out of date when it arrives.

  • Collective intelligence

The owner's answers become part of the project record that the team, and any agents, work from.

Frequently asked questions

Does the owner need an account?

Not necessarily. Connect uses password-protected links so a client can answer questions or review an update without signing up. For owners who need ongoing access, we set up guest roles with limited permissions.

Can the portal show our Power BI reports?

It can draw on the same model that feeds your Power BI reports, either by publishing selected pages and figures or by sharing reports through your Power BI licensing. The right option depends on your licensing and who the audience is, which we confirm in discovery.

Why not just email a PDF?

A PDF cannot collect an answer, and email replies are hard to find later. A portal keeps the update, the owner's questions and their confirmations together on the project, with timestamps.

What exactly has been built?

Secure client links, client-verified answers, and published updates with share links and history run in production in Connect for scheduling. A portal around your reports and data is scoped and built to your requirements on that pattern.
