For heavy civil on p6 and hcss

P6, HCSS and job cost in one monthly picture

Schedule status lives in P6, crew hours and equipment in HCSS, cost in Vista or CMiC. Every period project controls stitches them together for the owner package and the CFO review, and schedule and cost still arrive as two separate stories about the same job.

  • Primavera P6
  • HCSS HeavyJob
  • HCSS HeavyBid
  • Viewpoint Vista
  • CMiC
  • Power BI

Sound familiar?

  • Monthly CPM updates sit in P6 while cost, quantities and billing sit in the field and accounting systems.
  • Installed quantities are matched to bid items and cost codes in spreadsheets every pay period.
  • Equipment hours come from HCSS and the cost lands in accounting, so idle iron is hard to see by job.

What we'd build first

  1. 1

P6 schedule data next to cost

Milestones and activities from P6, live or from XER files, land in the same model as job cost and project records, mapped to the right job.

    Schedule data in reporting
  2. 2

HCSS to the ERP, on the same keys

Jobs and cost codes from Vista to HeavyJob, approved time cards and quantities back to job cost, and HeavyBid estimates seeding the original budget at award.

    HCSS and Vista: what syncs
  3. 3

One crosswalk of activities, bid items and cost codes

Maintained master data so quantities, cost and schedule status roll up through the same keys, and anything that does not map is listed for review instead of reported as zero.

Who you'd work with

At Viewpoint, Nearmap, and Trimble, Charley connected ERPs (Viewpoint Vista and Spectrum most of all), schedules, cost systems, and field tools for contractors and owners across the country. Most recently, as an Integrations Engineer on Trimble App Xchange, he built connectors and MCP servers for Vista, ProjectSight, Accubid, PowerFab, and Trimble Connect. The information was almost always there. What teams lacked was a reliable path from that data to a report or action they could trust.
