Integration guide
Autodesk Construction Cloud and Sage 300 CRE integration
Sage 300 CRE runs on the contractor's own server, so the integration has to reach it there. Its Web API covers jobs, cost codes and job cost, but lists no AP vendor, invoice or commitment endpoints; jobs and cost flow to ACC cleanly, while commitments need another route.
System facts last verified October 2026 against the vendors' documentation (sources below). Confirm details with Autodesk and Sage before you build.
Autodesk ACC and Sage 300 CRE side by side
- API style
- Autodesk ACCREST/JSON through Autodesk Platform Services (APS).
- Sage 300 CREOn-premises REST/JSON Web API installed on the customer's accounting server, plus ODBC reads through the Timberline Data driver.
- Authentication
- Autodesk ACCAPS OAuth 2.0: two-legged (client credentials) and three-legged (authorization code), plus Secure Service Accounts for server-to-server apps. A customer account admin must add your app's client ID under Account Admin > Custom Integrations.
- Sage 300 CREWeb API: every request carries an X-DPPKey header (the Sage Development Partner Program license key); you authenticate with the user's Windows credentials and send the returned token in an X-Credentials header. ODBC: a DSN plus a Sage user.
- Webhooks / events
- Autodesk ACCYes, through the APS Webhooks API: Data Management events (such as new file versions) and issue events (created, updated, deleted and more), among others.
- Sage 300 CRENone documented in the Web API user guide.
- Rate limits
- Autodesk ACCPublished per service and endpoint; for example, Cost Management allows 5,000 requests per minute overall, and Data Management endpoints mostly fall between 50 and 800 per minute per client ID. Exceeding a limit returns 429 with Retry-After.
- Sage 300 CRENot published. Confirm with vendor.
- Sandbox
- Autodesk ACCAPS has a free tier covering cloud APIs, with monthly limits on select metered APIs. No separate construction sandbox confirmed; test in a project you control.
- Sage 300 CRENo public sandbox. Developers join the Sage CRE Development Partner Program, which issues a time-limited key renewed with the agreement. Confirm current terms with Sage.
- Exports and files
- Autodesk ACCData Connector API: scheduled or one-time CSV extracts (ZIP), up to 50 projects per request, with files available for 30 days.
- Sage 300 CREODBC reads of accounting data for reporting. The Web API guide lists no AP vendor, AP invoice or commitment endpoints, so those usually come through ODBC or Sage's desktop tooling. Confirm with vendor for your version.
- Marketplace / partners
- Autodesk ACCAutodesk Developer Network (ADN); members can request rate-limit increases. App listing programs not confirmed.
- Sage 300 CRESage CRE Development Partner Program (apply by email; program fees apply).
Who owns what
- Accounting usually owns jobs, vendors and cost codes; they flow into project management.
- Commitments and change orders are typically created in project management and pushed to accounting on approval.
- Actual costs flow from accounting back to project management or into a reporting model.
What syncs between Autodesk ACC and Sage 300 CRE
The typical shape for this pair. Every row is typical: confirm it against your configuration in discovery.
| Object | Direction | System of record | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobs → projects | Sage 300 CRE to Autodesk ACC | Sage 300 CRE | Hourly |
| Typical frequency: Hourly. Notes: Read through the Web API on the customer's server and carry the Sage job number onto the ACC project.(Typical: confirm against your configuration.) | |||
| Cost codes and categories | Sage 300 CRE to Autodesk ACC | Sage 300 CRE | On change |
| Typical frequency: On change. Notes: Map Sage cost codes and categories to ACC budget codes in a table accounting reviews.(Typical: confirm against your configuration.) | |||
| Vendors → companies | Sage 300 CRE to Autodesk ACC | Sage 300 CRE | Daily |
| Typical frequency: Daily. Notes: Read through ODBC (Timberline Data); the Web API guide lists no AP vendor endpoints.(Typical: confirm against your configuration.) | |||
| Budgets | Sage 300 CRE to Autodesk ACC | Sage at award; ACC after | Once at setup |

| Contracts and change orders | not synced | Confirm with Sage for your version | No Web API write path listed |
| Typical frequency: No Web API write path listed. Notes: The v25 Web API guide lists no commitment endpoints. Teams usually enter them in Sage from an ACC export or through Sage's desktop tooling; confirm what your version supports before scoping.(Typical: confirm against your configuration.) | |||

| Typical frequency: Nightly. Notes: Job cost transactions come through the Web API; summarize by job and cost code for budget versus actual.(Typical: confirm against your configuration.) | |||
Directions, owners and frequencies are the typical pattern from our integration guides and mapping workbook. Confirm each one against your configuration in discovery.
Is a native connector enough?
We haven't confirmed a documented native connector for this pair. Check Autodesk's partner listings and the Sage CRE Development Partner Program for a partner connector first: if one moves the records you need with your cost structure and approvals, configure it. Build when the mapping needs governing, when failures need routing to a person, or when you also need cross-system reporting.
Compare native connectors with a custom buildCommon gotchas
- There's no cloud endpoint for Sage 300 CRE. The integration needs a route to the customer's server (a VPN or gateway), and Sage notes your application should manage the right URL for each customer.
- Every Web API request carries a time-limited Development Partner Program key, and each endpoint needs the matching license feature plus the customer's module licenses and user permissions. Put the key renewal on someone's calendar.
- ACC calls fail until the account admin adds your client ID under Custom Integrations, and some admin endpoints want two-legged tokens while user-scoped tools need three-legged ones.
- For reporting rather than syncing, ACC's Data Connector produces scheduled CSV extracts across up to 50 projects per request, which pairs well with Sage ODBC reads in a lakehouse.

Frequently asked questions
Can Autodesk Construction Cloud write commitments into Sage 300 CRE?
Not through the Web API as documented: the v25 guide lists no AP vendor, invoice or commitment endpoints. Teams enter them in Sage from an ACC export or through Sage's desktop tooling. Confirm with Sage for your version.
How does a cloud integration reach Sage 300 CRE?
Sage's Web API runs on the customer's own accounting server, so the integration reaches it over a VPN or a gateway. ODBC reads through the Timberline Data driver need the same network route.
What's the quickest way to report ACC and Sage 300 CRE together?
Land ACC Data Connector CSV extracts and Sage ODBC reads in one lakehouse, match projects to jobs with a crosswalk, and report from there. It avoids the write-back gaps entirely.
